Drumming and singing bowls are visceral experiences that have been part of many ancient traditions for wellness. In school, it works for our SEL and wellness goals. Here’s a study about the power of sound.
our Yoga Closet is a perfect sound and cool down zone
Calm. Focus. Relaxation. Balance. Imagination.
Kindergarten tune in turns
Sound yoga breaks give students a few minutes to reset, balance, breathe deeply and connect.
Bonus outreach, when the door is open our room of sound spills into the hallways to share a moment of relaxation. Students and teachers report great results in such a quick experience, daily walks around the school and hundreds of children are participating in less than 10 minutes!
Morning drumming welcomes the community in sound and play at the start of the day for kids, parents and school community.
Morning welcome fun with all ages, as everyone gets ready for the day
Singing Bowls
Sound vibrations impact our nervous system – our brain, spinal cord, sensory systems, organs and all of the nerves that connect and communicate in our body.
Middle School hands on vibration experiment
Sound waves play with our brain waves and help us become aware of the magnificent mind and body link. Singing bowls sing a vibration all around, tune in to you and notice….
Right brain, left brain activity – watching 10 peaceful and deep breaths, markers in both hands to express sound wave observations. Movement, neural integration, joy, community - project length 4-6 weeks - great for rainy day weather too.

Physical Education – Mindfulness Series / Sound Waves
Physical Education teacher, Michelle P. helped pilot a 6-week physical education series for middle schoolers involving singing bowls, physical exercises, mental relaxation, muscle release and quiet time.
This program was extended to 16 weeks as the students wanted to practice more, observe sound waves, learn how to use singing bowls, and design and lead the sessions for their classmates.
